From tap at Borefts 2016. Aroma is raspberry, Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, prunes, tobacco, dried fruits, oak, dark malt. Flavour is medium sweet. Body is full. Pretty rich and complex.

Tap at Borefts’14: Very black coloured brew with an well balanced bitter taste. Hints of chocolate, vanilla, smoked and that wonderful raspberry they used.

Baclog. Bottle at Akkurat. Very dark brown with tiny head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, berries, raspberries and barrel. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, berries, raspberries, sweet, barrel, vanilla and warming.

2015 bottle via trade. It pours oily opaque black with a fizzy, quickly dissipating dark tan head. The aroma is rich and intoxicating, decadent, dark roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, gateaux, vanilla, toasted coconut, bourbon, damp oak, touch of red berries, raspberry and tangy jam. The taste is smooth, slick, juicy, jammy, bitter - sweet, tangy raspberry, victoria sponge cake, rich roasted malt, toothy, chewy, dark chocolate cake, espresso, vanilla, oak tannin, touch of toasted coconut, jammy wagon wheel and only a touch of alcohol presence. Fulsome body, fine carbonation and slick mouth feel. This edition works very well. Would not guess the age on it at all. Good depth of flavour.

Keg at Borefts 2016 when I found myself in a queue. Pours black with a smidge of tan head. Aroma: chocolate, vanilla, raspberry. Taste: heavy sweet & moderate bitter, cocoa, raspberry, vanilla, liquorice, oak, whisky. Full body with light carbonation

Tap at Borefts 2014. Pours pitch black with a frothy thick mocca head. Aromas of sour (rasp)berries, slight smoke and licorice, some burned coffee notes. Slightly alcoholic. Taste is pretty sour berries up front, homemade raspberry sorbet, licorice, roasted coffee, sourness settles slightly, dry bittersweet chocolate finish.

Tap @ Borefts 2014. Black. Vanilla and honey in the complex aroma. Oak, vanilla, honey, roast in the flavor. Some raspberryjuice noticeable in the background. Full bodied. Salt, licorice. Strong roast finish. Tap @ Borefts 2016. Malty sweet. Honey and raspberry in the aroma and flavor.
