0,66l bottle at home. Barch #85. 12.1% ABC. black color, very small coffee colored head. smells of coffee, bourbon, some coconut, vanilla, light cinnamon, earthy, bit nutty. very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of coffee, bourbon, molasses, ripeish fruits, whisky, bit boozy, light sherry, nutty, brown sugar, hints of vanilla. finishes lightly roasty bitter and lightly boozy with notes of brown sugar, sherry and some coffee. good stuff, looses a bit towards the finish but overall very good to drink. lovely beer, not as smooth as some of the newer imp stouts and shows the alcohol a bit but overall still very nice. 8, 4, 7, 3, 17 Rerate: 0,65l bottle at home. On tap at Monks Kettle. Pours pitch black. Chocolate, coffee, vanilla, really fruity cold brew coffee, cacao nibs, bit of roast. Decent body. Like those chocolate covered coffee beans. Delicious.

Taster pour on draft at The Grill Next Door. Appearance is opaque black with thin ring of beige head, no discernible sparkle. Aroma is roasted malt, cinnamon, dark fruit. Taste is rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruit, mild vanilla and light alcohol spiciness. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with thick, smooth texture, average carbonation, pleasant alcohol warmth and sweet finish as taste. Overall, the reputation is well-deserved as this is excellent. The bourbon is complementary but fairly subtle but didn't really get any coffee.

Tap, taster. Tasted on the 14/04/2018 at "El Sainete", Madrid. Black with a creamy beige head. Aroma of coffee beans, spresso, chocolate, oak and some liquorice. Taste is spresso and intense cocoa leading to a medium oaky and strong wood finish. Warm finish. Medium carbonation and heavy body. Next one please!
