Can (4/21/23) pour from Valley Beverage. Lightly hazy pale yellow with trace sparkle, ephemeral fizzy cap of head and no lacing. Aroma is rice and hint of lemon/fruit. Taste is strong crackery malts, rice. Smooth texture, soft carbonation and crisp finish as taste.

On tap at the brewery. Pours golden with medium white head. The aroma is floral and citrus. Medium body, rice, cracker, straw, citrus, dry finish, very good.

Not sure what I’m drinking—the label says Special Lager is an international-style pilsner, not a Japanese rice lager, but it doesn’t quite seem pilsner-ish, more grainy and sweet than dry and floral, lacking much character beyond toasted corn notes and a gentle, festbier-ish fade. Eh.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours clear bright gold with a transient white head. Saaz spice with something that could be rice. Med body. Rather lush. Flavor is barley/rice/bread with Saaz spice. Maybe a little grass. Or a touch of lemon. Lemon grass? Pretty dry. LIghtly bitter, but it tastes good. Gonna drink it with Kung Pao chicken tonight.
