Effortlessly cool, popping up up in a cultish fashion and constantly on a tasty mission. This is mission Gose: our take on a old-fashioned and slightly odd German style beer that is with good reason trending as the tastiest right now. It’s tart, salty, low in alcohol and probably the most refreshing beer you’ll have. Perhaps enjoy this beer in a restaurant with a mission near you. Wherever you are we made it stylishly good and exclusively well balanced just for you.

Optisch trüb wie frische Zitronenlimo. In der Nase riecht man deutlich Eukalyptus. Im Trunk krachsauer, Eukalyptus, Koriander, dann Salz. Hammergeil.

Hazy and pale but the head died quickly. Gingery lemondate nose, touch wheaty and a touch yeasty. On the palate, lemony tartness with a fair bit of yeast, just a hint of salt, and a muddled malt note. Salty lemonade tart finish. Sloppy beer, but fun.

Evil Twin’s take on the ancient - but now again very vivid - Gose style, can from Bierhalle Deconinck. Thin and loose, off-white head, needing a little forcing to develop, loosely structured and quickly reduced to a wafer thin rim of tiny bubbles around the edge with practically nothing in the middle and eventually disappearing altogether, over a lightly hazy ’old gold’ coloured beer with warmer orangey tinge. Quite intense and fascinating aroma of salted cherry tomatoes and salted mango flesh, gari (candied ginger), both stewed and raw rhubarb, cranberries, salted lime (a combination almost reminiscent of drinking a tequila shot), sherry and sherry vinegar, salty peanut butter, unripe melon, sourdough, Sauerkraut, wakame, lemon zest, coriander but as fresh leaves rather than seed (strangely), soap, pink grapefruit juice with a pinch of salt in it - in all, fruity and tart with this pungent saltiness sprinkled all over the whole. Fruity, lively onset with apricot, pineapple and mango sweetness drenched in a tart, drying unripe green gooseberry sourness on the one hand a pinch of samphire saltiness on the other hand, classic Gose flavour tuned up a bit to a more expressive, somewhat more ’extreme’ level, beef tomato-like as well; minerally aspects on the sides of the tongue but altogether quite softish carbonation, with a smooth, slick mouthfeel. Soapy ’wheatiness’ and light bready barley flavours in the middle are dried by the ongoing acidity, a bit lemony and wry grape peel-like, but not too puckering, rather a sedate, long-stretched, overall tartness. The beef tomato-like aspect continues till the end, with that silky saltiness accompanying the ongoing drying sourness; especially the latter dominates the finish, with a spicy, somewhat sherry vinegar-like effect, drying and utterly quenching over lingering wheat soapiness. Salted mango and salted tomato fruity aspects linger as well, with a slight earthy hoppy touch at the background, providing some very late, soft and only ’virtual’ bitterness. Very expressive, uncompromizing interpretation of the style, rather lemony, very fruity and packed with flavour for a beer of only 4% ABV.

Can from Wine Rack, West Byfleet. Funky acidic uber citrus voice vinegar aroma. Opaque pale gold. Stray strands for a Head. Salty and sour. A real tang to it. Juicy. Medium bodied. Oily. Leaves a slick sensation on the lips. Flat. Abrupt finish, however it does leave a tingle on the tongue. Two neighbours tried this earlier. At first they were completely taken aback but then enjoyed it. As knives you pleasant and sourness it’s top marks.
