Very hazy yellow-orange color. Tropical fruits, a bit muddy. Refreshing tropical fruits. Smooth carbonation. Bitter. Something bothers me here, but it’s okay.

One of a whole bunch of beers which Mikkeller brewed in Belgium’s ’Proef’brouwerij. ’Ordinary’ (i.e. not double) West Coast IPA with lightly orangey peach blonde colour, completely misty from the start, under a medium sized, egg-white, creamy head, breaking open after a while. Wonderful citrussy hops aroma as expected, very refreshing, impressions of orange juice, pink grapefruit, lemon zest, vanilla, rose petals, some caramel, white bread, peaches, pineapple, mango, yoghurt, cheese spread, soap, candied apricot. Crisp and refreshing in the mouth, with a vivid exotic fruitiness to start with, minerally carbonation, supple and smooth mouthfeel, pale, bready and slightly nutty malt sweetishness underlying, yeasty and a bit starchy, hops setting in early and leading to a long, dry, citrussy and earthy bitter finish, with some yeast bitterness and a slight hint of toasted malts accompanying it. Pleasant and very drinkable IPA, not something that will change the style, but perfectly decent and delivering.

Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsdalen. Drukket i Skibotn 23 Jan 15. Aprikosfarget. Uklar. Middels høyt skum som holder seg. Aroma av fersken. Smaken tørr frukt. Behagelig. Blir litt syrlig etter hvert.
