650ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of roasty malts, hints of coffee, honey, licorice and chocolate. Taste is smooth, slightly roasty with some licorice, coffee, honey and chocolate. Finish is roasty, slightly sweetish and earthy with some licorice and hints of honey. Okay.

Sample at tasting. Smooth chocolate and pretty harsh bitterness. A bit too much alcohol too.

Bottle @ ZZT 2016-1. Black pour. Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla and chocolate. Taste has creamy coffee, bitters, choco and some roast. Solid example of the style, did not get the avocado though.

Black colour, beige head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, caramel and honey. Bitter flavour, really bitter for a porter. Coffee and roasted malts. Bitter finish.

Thank you Caesar! 650 ml. bottle sampled @ ZZT 2016-1. Black, solid creamy mocha. Nose is cheap chocolate powder, herbal, molasses, umami, roast. Taste is thin herbal mocha, roast, thin roast, grainy, bit fizzy, low umami. Bit meh for me, not too crazy about this one.

Poured up at the brewery where it exhibits a nice yet murky dark mahogany body that supports a bright tan head of foam that has a golden tone to it. The aroma offers up malt sweetness, molasses, burnt malts and nuttiness. The taste is smooth, rich and sweetness that is enhanced by roasted malts and slight burnt maltiness. It has a nuttiness that seems sort of coconut or something. It ends as smooth as it started but there’s a modest malt bitterness going on.

Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Fair effort here. Deeply roasted malts, earthy bitterness, bittersweet baking cocoa. A bit of dark chocolate and burnt wood, too. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Light warmth at the end with more baking cocoa character. Rich, hefty.
