Our Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.

Draught @ Ballast Point-Little Italy, San Diego. Pours golden with an offwhite head, lacings. Aroma of malt, light caramel, fruity hops, sweet pineapple. Flavor is sweet, light bitter, malt, caramel, fruity, pineapple. Medium body, average to lively carbonation, light sweet and light bitter finish. 240718

Bottle 33 cl. Orange, hazy with a large foamy white head. Tropical fruit aroma, light citrus. Medium bitterness with a nice but not overwhelming tropical end. Nice and fresh. Bb 09.2025

Bottle from Harris Teeter in Alexandria, VA. Clear gold in colour, with a slight, white, head. floral and citrus hops and plenty of pineapple fruit in the aroma. Flavour had some crisp, balancing, malts, more pineapple, leading to a hoppy, dry, finish. Very good.

bottle - Gold pour, citrus and pineapple aroma. Flavor is bitter with pineapple, citrus, and resin. Good malt backbone. Medium bodied. Nice IPA.

Can at Richards; clear amber pour with a thin off white head, aroma has big fresh pineapple, taste has big bitter grapefruit, pineapple really juicy.

Great beer. Pineapple is well balanced and get out of the way of the hops.

On tap at Jane Doe’s Östersund. Tasted all too similar to the usual ballast point sculpin, ie I didn’t detect any pineapple at all really. It had its moments of tasting superb but equally like other sculpins there is this particular ’old’ or ’stale’ hop taste I not too keen on which was particularly strong in this batch.
