The secrets to the perfect, fresh taste of Kasztelan Unpasteurised is the omission of pasteurisation and the original recipe from the Sierpc Brewery.
Smak Kasztelana narodził się w Sierpcu. Nasze piwo warzymy korzystając wyłącznie z naturalnych, wyselekcjonowanych składników: polskiego słodu jęczmiennego, dwurzędowego jęczmienia, krystalicznie czystej wody i starannie dobranych odmian chmielu. To właśnie ich umiejętne połączenie wraz z doświadczeniem naszych piwowarów nadaje Kasztelanowi smak uczciwie uwarzonego piwa.

50cl can @ home. Clear golden, medium sized white head that doesn’t last long. Smells malts, grains and Polish farmhand. Tastes malts, grains, a hint of Sprite, fresh, nice. Thin to medium body, nice crisp carbo.

Bottle from the bar at Dom Polonii Hotel, Ostroda, Poland. Poured a golden colour with a foamy white head. Aroma is malty, caramel and grain. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Body is medium to light, texture a little on the creamy side. Soft carbonation. Better than average Polish pale lager.

Can from Prince International Supermarket, Ashford. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Lager malt aroma, ok in the mouth some vague lemony hop towards the finish. It’s better than the Cesu Premium I just had no doubt. Very drinkable acceptable lager. Cereal flavour is ok. Solid. Lemon finish actually builds.

Canned. Really unpalatable, strongly astringent, sourish. Even among the macrobrews this is a no go.

50cl Can from Costa. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of grassy hops, light skunk and grain. Flavour is light to medium sweet, light malty, grain, light skunky, grass, some cheap alcohol, bitter finish. Light bodied. Not as smooth as the Jasne Pelne.
