Draught at Jerntorgets Brygghus, Göteborg. Sampled on December 24, 2013.Served as Grolsch Weizen, guessing it is this one since the Premium was retired.Cloudy golden color, white head. Sweet, banana scent. Sweet, banana taste. Fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.For my taste boring, bland, thin, not among the weizens I’d get again had I a choice.

Bottle from Albert Heijn. At least it wasn’t a Polish avondwinkel! Poured a cloudy medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is banana and yeast. The flavour is weak acid citrus. Medium bodied with low carbonation and a weak citrus finish.

30cl Bottle from AH. Brewed at Gulpener? Already sounds more promising than Grolsch. The Beerbuddy barcode-scanner guided me directly to the retired Premium Weizen btw, which fed my already existing suspicion of these being aliases. Hazy deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of sweet banana, hint of coreander, clove, light spicy, light grainy. Flavour is quite sweet, banana, yeast, hint of wheat, a bit of paper, light yeasty bitter finish with some more sweet banana. Light-bodied. It’s a bit too sweet and one-dimensional, but OK. At least it lacks the nasty grainy bitter Grolsch house-character.
