100 IBUs and a simple malt profile really show off this IPA’s character and Northern California heritage. Citra and Galaxy hops were used to dry hop this beer into next week!

Bottle from Whole Foods. Amber pour with small foamy head. Aroma is rich malts, earthy hops, kinda smoky, tobacco. taste too is natural and dirty, more smoky character. Light hops and nice bready malts. Perhaps closer to an APA, but still an interesting beer.

On tap at Ale Industries, pours a clear copper golden with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops, earthiness, traces of diacetyl and biscuity malt. Flavour is quite herbal in the hop department, along with bitter pine cones and toasted biscuity malt. Abrasive and herbal on the finish. Oily, bitter palate. Okay IPA.

From bomber to pint glass. Crystal malt, floral and slight citrus aroma. Clear copper-orange with well sustained white head. Taste leans to the malt with slight citrus. Moderate bitterness but does not seem like 100 IBUs. A little cloying.

#1000 USA beer. Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Dark peach amber. Plaster yeast, dust, cardboard, plaster, doughy. Taste is weird papery dough, sugar, peach, old hops, sugar. Milky plaster body. Old keg maybe? This sample didn’t do much for me, meh.

On tap at City Beer. A hazy, orange beer with a small, light beige head. The aroma is a bit sweetish, but with lots of pine cones and citrus peel. It’s rather bitter in the mouth, full-bodied and lightly warming. Nice carbonation too. Sugary malty sweetness, pine cones and lemon peel. Lasting finish where the bitterness beats the sweetness. Overall, too sweet, but I like it anyway. 130805
