Prairie Gold is a dry, highly effervescent saison fermented with a mix of ale yeast, wine yeast, lactobacillus and 2 strains of brettanomyces. This beer highlights the various yeasts and bacteria used to make it. Lemon, pear, white wine grapes, and a touch of funk dominate the flavor and aroma in this champagne like beer.

Bottle, 6.5%. Slow gusher. The aroma is quite lactic at first. Also has some soft fruit, mango, and perhaps a little fresh lemon juice. Cloudy milky yellow colour. Sparkling. No head. The flavour is sourish. Milky and fruity sourness. Tart finish. A little sweetness to balance. Finishes with a dry and clean lemon note. High carbonation, fizzy. Refreshing. A bit like Berliner Weisse, but better.

Bottle, courtesy of yespr. Pours very fizzy, cloudy pale yellow with quickly vanishing off-white head. Clear, vinous aroma with sparse hoppy notes. Intensive vinous flavour with notes of yeast and subtle touches of hops. Mild finish. A nice one.

750mL shared at a tasting. Cork blew off the bottle followed by a light gush out the bottle. Pours an very cloudy pale straw color. This was a brett centric brew with lemony funk all over the place. Lots of tartness and vibrant funk. A bit of sour but mostly a lemony brett bright beer. Real nice.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a fizzy white head that dissipates near immediately to the edges. Aroma has a strong sour note with a bit of a wine like tartness and a decent amount of barnyard funk. Flavor has a good amount of acid with a touch of lemon and sour wine grapes with a touch of underlying funk. Wine grapes add an interesting dynamic.
