Crazy Diamond, the second collaboration between Andre De Beer and Eric van Heerden Stretches the boundaries of local craft beer. This Belgian Double IPA releases a taste explosion that has to be experienced. The Cullinan and Somerset West version should be tasted to understand the impact of the variations in process in the same recipe.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber. Aroma is boozy, plums, toasted malts, sugars, sauerkraut. Body is heavy and strong, sweet and bitter and boozy, and well carbonated. Phenols and minerals and hops and pine and sugars. Not really Belgian, not really an IPA, but they are both there in a way. Works.

Thank you for sharing Yarric! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ "De grote Black Tuesday Tasting". Apparently insanely expensive, about € 30 !!!! Dark brown, little head. Nose is old pine resin, big caramel, overly sweet, coffee, awkward. Taste is pine resin, sugar, weird, coffee, dash mushroom, sugar, caramel, toffee,… Thick malty body. Hard to describe but very odd & I am not too crazy about this one.

Small yellowish head over hazy amber beer. Buttermilk, spoiled milk, spicy blossoms. Spoiled milk, milkchocolate, coffee with milkchocolate mixed. Well bodied and well-carbonated. Ugh... the nose was still allright, but once tasted...
