opalescent mahogany colour, huge, stable yellowish head; aroma of dried fruits (raisin, maybe some figs)and overripe fruitis, roasted sugary notes, some nuts, resiny and minimal floral notes; taste of maltyness, roasted notes, dried fruits and resin; great Belgian Ale

Spiced ale since 2009 with thin, off-white head over a deep bronze beer with burgundy hue, cloudy. Aroma of raisins, cider, walnuts, nutmeg, tomato, brown sugar; fruity onset (red apple), sweetish but more dry than the sweetly perfumed aroma suggests, probably due to spices, bittering in the end with nutty malts and slight coffee-like roasted bitterness. Interesting, a hybrid between a saison and a Scotch, or better put: an interesting, idiosyncratic Belgian. This brewery keeps surprising me.

Bottled, BB 05/10/2015, large sample. Pours an almost clear golden to orange color with virtually no head. Aroma is very faint, some orange, some caramel and some spicy yeast. Almost unnoticeable. Flavor is watery. I have the feeling it was a bad bottle, otherwise it’s unimaginable this beer scores so high. Still, I have to rate the bottle in hand.

Unclear orange colour, off-white head. Nose is light sour, malty. Flavour is light malty, bit hoppy and yeasty. Finish is slightly sweet.

Bottle at WWT3. Poured a medium copper colour with a thin white head. The aroma is weak yeast leading to a light weak bitter with a little yeast and some hoppy bitterness on the otherwise watery palate. Refreshing, but not so tasty,
