Bottle from the Captain Pub, Annecy. Well, this is a local beer, and when in Savoie, do as the Savoyardes do (although there are few if any locals around and most people are drinking Guinness, but I digress). Dark gold, almost clear. Not a lot of visible carbonation. Light honey and maple syrup aroma. Strong sweet honey taste with a slight souring reprieve kicking in halfway through the sip. A bit messy this one.

Huge, very dense & fine yellowish head over hazy orangey-golden beer. Sweet nose, with initially quite some vanilla, then more vegetable, spice and a certain acidity suggested. Sourish vegetable/fruity taste; some citrus, but also a bit of vinegar. Pickles? Some toasted malts, not sweet. Acidthinning, light body. Production artisanale? That’s a nice way of saying it tastes like homebrew. Merci à Mathieu!

14/II/2012 - 33cl bottle @ Klaas' place - BB: IV/12 (2012-127) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!

Clear orange beer, small creamy head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, oranges, orange peel, some alcohol. MF: good carbon, full body. Taste: pretty fruity start, ripe tangerines, general bitterness, alcohol, little sugary, touch of passion fruit, almonds. Aftertaste: some marzipan, malts, orange peel, bitter ending. Not too bad! I could do some après-ski on this stuff. ;-)

Bottle looks not so good, too complex. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Fiery-alcoholic aroma. Starts malty dry, complex sourish-fruity and much too alcoholic. Soapy-alcoholic finish. Really not good!

Bottled 330ml. -Slight hazy orange/golden coloured, medium sized creamy white head that stays for a while, pleasant spicy fruity nose with hint of caramel. Sweet malty, very spicy and caramel with warming alcohol in the finish. Touch of vanilla also. Enjoyable beer.
