This one was a pleasant surprise. So after trying my first Stella in Egypt I decided to see what else Egypt had to offer. I decided to go for Meister Max. It poured an orange color with a white head. Aroma not entirely horrible. But importantly, it tasted a whole lot better than most American high gravity malt liquors. It actually had some positive beer flavor and the sweetness and alcohol burn were not really noticeable. I wouldn’t mind drinking a few of these in a row, which is more than I can say for most American high gravity products.

Can in Cairo. The color was bright, gold-like. Large white foam which disappeared quickly. Thought that the scent contained some corn and weak tones of fruit. Also some alcohol. The taste was sweet with hints of fruits and malt, weak bitterness. It all ended with a hefty dose of alcohol in the aftertaste. The beer seemed pretty thin, despite the percentage.

Bottled. A light golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of alcohol and flowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and alcohol, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Can 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Clear golden with tiny impurities and a white head. Aroma of brewing cereal and alcohol. Medium body, slightly fusty, brewing cereal and a chemical twist. Roaring alcohol in the finish. 230909

Flaske 0,33l brakt hele veien fra Egypt av Christina. Hjertelig takk! Gyldenbrun farge. Et ok luftig skum som varer noen minutter. God aroma med litt frukt & malt. Brukbar fylde. Beskrevet som "lager" på flaska men dette er en divisjon eller to over. Svakt fruktige innslag i smaken - hvor en tydelig merker alkoholen.

21/11 0.33 l bottle my mum brought from Egypt, thanks. My first beer from there. It poured golden body with small head. Fine malty aroma with an alcohol punch. Surprisingly, some lemony hops show up here as well. Pretty light flavor, balanced between sweet malt and bitter spices, alcohol or whatever. Thinner in body with low carbonation, finishes quickly. Quite fine for what it is (although as of some hops can be considered as an ESL), simple, pleasant and easily drinkable, but too boring to be a good beer.

Bottle courtesy of heavy (thanks!), shared with him and ogivlado. Didn’t expect much from this one and didn’t get much. Gold body, small white heat. Alcohol, heavy maltiness and some lemon in the nose. The taste is quite light and mouth puckeringly dry, but with noticable alcohol burn, light maltiness. Not as terrible as it might’ve been so that’s a plus. It’s not a great beer but this isn’t the worst malt liquor you can get and hey, my first Egyptian rating.

Bottled(330ml). -courtesy of heavy(thanks!), shared with him and Doggythedog. African malt liquor, yeah... Pale golden coloured, just three streams of carbonation, medium sized white head, corn nose with touch of alcohol. Weak malty, grainy and corn taste with odd salty-sweet alcoholic finish.
