Cognac 80%
New Oak High Toast 10%
New Oak Medium Toast 5%
Acacia wood 5%
The Oak Aged Batch 21 has a dark brown mahogany colour and a beige brown head. The soft aroma immediately reminds you of walnuts. Accompanied by a slightly smoky aroma, you can detect oak, caramel malt, alcohol, vanilla and, of course, French brandy. The flavour, although balanced, is not particularly mellow. The brandy barrels have clearly left a lot of wood influences, which manifest themselves in vanilla and almond. Additionally, the Quadrupel has a caramel-like, slightly sweet flavour with a good, full body. The flavour ends with a slightly burnt tone and a hint of wood tannin. Due to the light tingling of the carbonic acid, combined with the wood flavour and sweetness of the beer, the sensation in the mouth is full and pleasant.
Its fine bouquet is best savoured when this batch is served at a temperature of 16-18 °C (61 –64.5 °F).

Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, barna szín. Karamelles, gyümölcsös, cseresznyés illat. Édes, karamelles, cseresznyés, sötétgyümölcsös ízvilág, vaníliás, hordós aromákkal, pici alkoholos lecsengéssel. Testes, enyhén szénsavas, enyhén kesernyés. Nagyon finom desszertsör.

0,375 l bottle. Pours hazy dark copper with small beige quickly dissipating head. It's very thick, yeast floats. Aroma is full of walnuts, malt, caramel, some light dried fruit, slightly smoky, oak and brandy, alcohol, yeast. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter, woody bitterness is well present. Body is full, texture thick and carbonation average. Finish is long, starts similar to aroma, walnuts and caramel sweetness, plenty of wood and brandy like alcohol and ends with distinct almond and brandy alcohol taste.

Bottle at home. Now two years old. Has a deep slightly hazy mahogany colour with a beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, chocolate, liquor, oak, brown sugar and sweet cake. Flavour of licorice, liquor, oak, dried fruit and creme brulee. Has a soft mouth feel, full-bodied and a light bitterness. A rich ale where the barrel aging are very distinct with sweet malty tones in the background.

Bottle @Arendsnest. Pours clear deep Ameer, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is a bit of phenol, oak, toffee, dust, Belgian spice, raisin, woody, orange zest. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, woody, a hint of acetone, dark fruit, prominent spice, better than aroma. Medium body, a bit hot. Eh.

Bottle, 09:21 (from finestbelgianbeers.com). Pours hazy amber-broewn with beige head. Aroma reminds regular quad: sweet, malt, fruits, caramel, burnt sugar, apples. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, caramel, sugar, dryness, oak, fruits. Finish is sweet and dry with some boozy cognac kick. Overall: too boozy and would like more dryness from cognac BA, but otherwise this is on bar with the better batches of la trappe oaked quad.
