bottle from Cast in Stuttgart. Deep brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Roasty malty flavours dominate, some chocolate and burnt caramel, shy dried fruits. Very nice!

Clear reddish brown to dark brown beer, big creamy dense beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: very roasted, coffee and dark chocolate notes, malty, some caramel, bit earthy, leather, spices, more chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: nice roast up front, malty, pretty bitter, cocoa powder, spicy, some gingerbread, grains. Aftertaste: nice bitterness, good roast, lots and lots of dark chocolate, slightly sweet, malty, spices, dry, some coffee, more gingerbread, caramel malts, complex, decent one!

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, mahogany colour with ruby glimmer and small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Mellow, dark malty and fruity hoppy aroma, hints of dark chocolate, roasty hints of coffee, a touch of red fruit, berries, cherry, a cautious leafy touch of tobacco. Taste is sweet-ish and minimally bitter, roasty dark malty, notes of coffee, dark chocolate, dark cocoa, a cautious, leafy touch of tobacco, fruity hoppy overtones with an unspecific, minimally citrusy touch. Oily-watery texture, smooth, soft and silky palate, gentle carbonation. Very nice.

On tap at Mon Petit Cafe, pours a deep dark brown with a monstrous, slowly receding tan head. Aroma brings out earthy malt, with some burnt molasses, and hint of cinnamon. Flavour is earthy and dry, with a burnt molasses note permeating; secondary notes of cocoa and earthy notes. Too burnt to be all that pleasant.
