37.5 cl bottle. Pours hazy dark brown to black. Small tan head. Aroma is fruity, wineous and sour. Overripe fruity. Dark malty, sour, deep fruity. Citric and sour. Dry. Slight earthy and mouldy. Lingering citric and fruity far finish.

Bottle. Pours a somewhat clear dark brown color with a small white head. A big sour vinous woody nose. Sour sharpness, acidic at times, grapes, dark berries, I don’t really get much coffee and bourbon here. It is there in the initial flavor around the edges. Sour fleshy fruit.

2014 vintage, bottle poured and shared at the museum. Thanks Ratman for sharing! Rating from notes. Pours a dark brown color with a foaming head. Huge sour berry aroma. A little grape. Huge sour pucker sour up front, but nice balance of a little coffee. Coffee mostly in the late palate. Very unique sour. Awesome beer.

Crooked Stave Tasting Night; hazy dark amber pour with a creamy beige head, aroma has coffee and cocoa, taste is very sour with some crazy coffee in the background, tart fruits, very dry and a hint of bourbon.

375 ml. sampled @ Maldegem tasting. Obtained in a trade AdamJackson. 2014 Vintage. Dark brown, little head. Nose is hugely sour with thick cherries, big thick coffee, lactic sour with huge coffee & chocolate with big cherries. Taste is huge very big coffee beans sour coffee, lactic puckering big red cherries, chocolate, very sour, vinegar-like but oddly the balance & quality remains,… Rich beer,… Lovely,… Oddly works given the ridiculous ingredients,… Quite impressive.

Bottle @ home from last year’s reserve society. Pours a bit hazy, cola brown appearance with a brown head. The aroma has a lot of cherries, pecans, and mild vinegar. Reminds me of Trinity The Flavor. Moderately to highly sour. Lots of oak, tannins, wood, caramel, and cherries. Puckering finish. Similar to an Oud Bruin. Kind of cool.

The beer is ruby brown with a small fizzy head. The bubbles are beige and disappear fairly quickly. The liquid is quite cloudy, looks fairly muddy with the color. The aroma is big on berries with cocoa and coffee underneath. Red wine vinegar, grapes, oak. The taste is medium to strong sour. Pretty heavy vinegar acidic. Even milder chocolate and coffee in the taste. Lots of berry vinegar flavor. Fizzy mouthfeel. Pretty good pucker. The sour red base is a bit strong for the coffee and nibs, though it’s hard to tell if that’s good or bad.

Bottle thanks to Will. Pours a cloudy copper with no head. The aroma os strong coffee bean and roast. Thin mouthfeel with nice sour coffee bean, light roast, very nice.
