Clear dark brown colour, white head. Fruity aroma, hops, cacao. Fruity hop flavour, light bitter, malts, caramel and tropical fruits. Finish hops, caramel, light roasted malts. Reminding of a nicely hoppy porter.

On tap at Basement Beer Bar. A big light tan head forms over a black body. Curtains. The aroma is on the hoppy side, with resins, citrus peel and pine cones. Licorice and some roasted notes and a touch of alcohol. Roasted malts, licorice, hoppy bitterness and pine cones and resin in the flavor. Full body, very smooth, rather sweet on the palate. Lasting roasted and bitter finish with some warmth. A bit too roasted for a Black IPA, but sure nice. 141026

Obtained in a trade with Dedollewaitor. Thx! 330 ml. bottle split by 4 @ βThe Tasting formerly known as Mons RBBAG I (2014)β. BBF 02/2019 (seriously?). Dark brown, blackish, faint dark bordeaux hue, creamy mocha tanned head. Nose is pine hops, tad herbal hops mixed with creamy coffee, mocha. Taste is creamy bitter coffee with tad milk, mocha, plenty of roast, charred coffee, pretty bitter finish with tad herbal bitter hops in the back, faint chicory coffee. Very creamy coffee body, med. thickness, bitter roast. More like a very bitter porter than a BIPA. Decent but not stellar.

25/X/14 - 33cl bottle @ The Autumn Gathering formerly known as RBBAG Mons (Gent) - BB: 15/II/19 (2014-1251) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark purple brown beer, creamy solid beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, caramel, little roasted. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body, creamy texture. Taste: pretty roasted, coffee, bit fruity, charcoal, cocoa powder, some dried fruits. Aftertaste: very roasted, bitter hops, citrus, caramel, piny bitterness. Balances between a BIPA and a hoppy porter/stout, bit more towards the latter if you ask me, but still a magnificent beer!

Nydelig duft av Citrusfrukter, sjokolade og kaffe. Tykt brunt kremet skum. Dyp sort farge. Mild smak av citrus og sjokolade, med en litt skarp ettersmak. Nydelig.

Sample from bottle at Vecturamesse. The best beer from Munkebo, much of the pleasant hoppy and roasty character from the Midtfyns version seems to be intact. Will re-rate when I get a full bottle.
