The flagship of the O’Hara’s brand, this uniquely Irish stout brings one back to how Irish stouts used to taste. First brewed in 1999, it has since been awarded prestigious honours for its quality and authenticity. O’Hara’s Irish Stout has a robust roast flavour complemented by a full-bodied and smooth mouth feel. The generous addition of Fuggle hops lends a tart bitterness to the dry espresso-like finish.

Közepes, tartós hab fekete szín. Enyhén medvecukros, kávés, csokis illat. Száraz, kávés, pörkölt malátás íz. Könnyű, enyhén szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Kellemes, kissé a Guinnes-re hasonlító sör.

Can from the LCBO. Dark mahogany under a large foamy cage au lait coloured head that lingers and produces thick lace. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, chalk, light vanilla and dark malts. Light sweet malt and a light+ coffee bitterness. Mouth is thinner than expected but still creamy with fine carbonation. 8-/5/7/3/15

Looks almost pitch black in the glass with a relatively dense, creamy-looking head, the slightest off-white. Good retention and nice lacing. A quite subdued aroma of soft dark malts: very light toasted notes, milk chocolate, light vanilla. Clean and simple. Taste is a little richer, at least in intensity if not in complexity. Soft milk/oatmeal stout like roasted malts with a light hint of coffee, milk chocolate, light vanilla. Leaning towards sweetness, but overall in good balance with enough flavour neutral bittering hops and a clean, dry enough finish. Light to medium body with very light, delicate carbonation; feels nicely smooth with a pleasant hint of creaminess. Overall a very simple but well made and pretty enjoyable soft stout. Very similar to guinness, but feels more natural.

Can at Schwechat airport Billa. Does the job very well. Despite not being able to pour it in a glass, I clearly felt the nitro element and creamy smoothness on my tongue. It was dry, with a feeling of rather high but creamy carbonation. Fully roasty, coffeeish, a bit ashy, with little getting in the way. Good one.

440ml can at Hops & Bottles. Near black pour, half finger creamy tan head. Roasty aroma with a little sweetness. Taste is roasty, chocolate, and some light sweetness. Overall, the nitro gives it an almost lactose vibe.

A nitro can at Valhalla Viking Metal Craft Beer Pub, Zagreb. Dark brown to black, medium to large creamy tan head. Aroma is lightly toasty and burnt, flavour is roasty, nutty with a hint of prunes. Very thin, soft, drinkable, although slightly cloying. Minimal bitterness, light dry finish. Classy.
