Preserved Lemons + Salt = Refreshing Gose
We have been preserving lemons in salt and lemon juice throughout the winter, ready to brew this refreshing, zesty summer special.
Gose, is a traditional German-style sour wheat beer, usually brewed with coriander and salt. Once nearly extinct, this very refreshing style is making a comeback and we thought it would provide the perfect backbone to this wonderfully complex summer beer.
A fabulous citrus accompaniement to fish dishes, or it could act as a sour lemon pickle to Moroccan food.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A slightly hazy deep golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of lemon fruits, zest, salt. Taste of soft salty lemon fruits, yellow fruits, soft tart fruits, okay!

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 28/06/20, from Alko, 20180316) The beer poured pale golden and nearly clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had fruitiness, lemon and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, fruitiness, Belgian style yeast, lemon, tartness and bitterness. Aftertaste was tart and bitter. A rather messy brew but not completely hopeless.

Many thanks to minutemat for this bottle. Interesting neutral citrus nose. The beer starts fresh and fruity. The lemons are there, hints of salt over a light grainy body. Easy to drink, refreshing with a nice sour lemon aftertaste. Interesting stuff, not too deep, more refreshing with a great fresh sourness there.

Bottle. It's a hazy pale yellowish golden colored beer with a minimal sized rapidly disappearing white head. Lemony, doughy aroma with a herbal and grassy touch and something mineralish. It's quite dry on the palate, thin as well, with a heavy carbonation that doesn't stay in the mouth. Quite acidic, with lemon dominating. Doughy backdrop, and some herbal and salty notes. Short finish. A nice and quenching beer indeed, but it fails to raise my eyebrows. 180210
