La Luna Rossa was created with an initial sour beer which underwent 2 years of mixed fermentation (lactic bacteria, brettanomycetes). Then we added cherries for at least 6 months and we blended the new beer with a small part of other beers. La Luna Rossa is an ale that can remember a Kriek or a Flemish Red Ale. It has an extraordinary complexity associated with a strong character. For lovers of this kind of beers it is certainly hard to forget.

Semmi hab, piros szín. Savanykás, cseresznyés, animális illat. Savanyú, cseresznyés, animális, vadélesztős ízek, kissé fanyar lecsengéssel. Közepesen testes, alig szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Frissítő, kellemesen gyümölcsös, de túlságosan savanyú.

(Bottle) Red colour with brief, bubbly head. Fruity, acetic nose with notes of balsamic vinegar, caramel, cherries, oak wood, dried apricots, honey, hints of cinnamon and nuts. Fruity, tart taste with sour cherries, oak wood, balsamic vinegar, raspberries, dried apricots, honey, cinnamon and a sour, acetic finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Low bitterness. Tasty and fairly well balanced, despite the intense vinegar acidity. Nice one.

375mL bottle, pours an opaque dark pinkish orange with almost no head. Aroma brings out lots of vinegary notes, stone fruits and acidity. Flavour is along the same lines, with stone fruits, vinegar and acidity on the finish. Perfumey, acetic finish. Solid stuff, albeit harsh.

Bottle - Sour acidic and Vinngar cherry. Cloudy maroon. Lots of sweet cherry acidity. A bit too much acidity and not enough complexity.

Purplish-brown, fairly muddy. No head. The aroma is hugely acetic, with a blast of cherry. This has a lot of cherry character, sweetness, and the acetic is still there, but nowhere as prominent as it was on the nose.

330ml bottle. (2013 vintage) Pours a cloudy dark red with no head. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, tart cherry, red wine and oak. Sweet, fruity flavour of cherries, caramel malt, red wine, oak, vinegar and light brett with a dry, tart, acidic finish. Medium body with an oily texture and flat carbonation. Very nice.

2011 Bottle, from Systembolaget. Hazy reddish brown with a quickly diminishing white head. Funky aroma and taste with cherries, acetone, sour raspberries, oak, almond and balsamico. Soft, tart finish.
