La Luna Rossa was created with an initial sour beer which underwent 2 years of mixed fermentation (lactic bacteria, brettanomycetes). Then we added cherries for at least 6 months and we blended the new beer with a small part of other beers. La Luna Rossa is an ale that can remember a Kriek or a Flemish Red Ale. It has an extraordinary complexity associated with a strong character. For lovers of this kind of beers it is certainly hard to forget.

Sampled draft @ Borefts 2014. Thank you! Dark hazy pink, light pink head. Huge tart raspberry in the nose, skins, very tart; Very acidic huge raspberry taste, light vinegar, puckering, faint sugar. Dries out the mouth. Super delicious.

@ Borefts 2014. Murky red/brown colour, small head. Medium carbonation. Aroma of red fruit, balsamico vinegar, some brown sugar. Tart and refreshing, light bitter. Very good, reminds me a bit of Rodenbach Vintage.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Murky copper/amber, faint head. Acetic oaky cherry aroma. Acetic with underlying malt sweetness. Full bodied with soft mouthfeel. Oak, cherries, honey, vinegar and white pepper. Warming acetic finish. Intense and concentrated, multi layered and quite delicious.

Bottle. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity spicy sour cherry aroma. Fruity sour tart cherry flavor. Has a fruity sour tart cherry finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle. Deep reddish brown liquid with small light tan head. Aroma of wood, red fruit, bread, red onion, apples, vinegar and lemon. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of apples, wood, red berries and light vinegar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Really nice.
