Sour wheat beer originally coming from Leipzig, brewed for the first time in collaboration with a former craft brewery, who sold-out to Swinkels (Bavaria) Group in 2019. Goses are traditionally spiced with salt and coriander, but we decided to add bitter orange peels and bergamot: it’s fresh, aromatic, savoury, slightly sour and refreshing. Do you find it weird? Try it and you will change your mind!

Draft. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of lacto acid, salt, and malt. The flavor is sweet with an acidic edge and notes of salt, lacto acid, lemons, straw, and malt, leading to tart finish. Very refreshing.

Bottle. Light golden beer, no real head. Grassy and malty aroma. Taste is sour, with notes of bergamot, wheat and a little but of hop. Only a tiny bit salty. Thin body, lacks some depth. Okay beer.

Bottle from the De Molen Beer Shop. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin broken white head and lots of bubbles. The flavour is light sour with a crisp mineral acidic citrus palate. Light bodied with lively carbonation.

19/IX/14 - 33cl bottle from Biernavigatie (webshop, NL) @ my parents in law's place - BB: 30/VI/15 (2014-1015)
Clear yellow beer, big creamy white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lemonade, artificial lemon flavour, dish washing soap, bit sugary. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty sour, lemon juice, bit of vinegar, more lemon, artificial. Aftertaste: sourish, lemon juice, little bitter, lemon peel, just lemon juice. I have no idea what they're trying to achieve here...

Pours pale straw with a fading head.Nose shows pepper, soft cookie dough, bready wheat and lemon.Flavours include some buttery notes, mineral water, a little acidity. The buttery note mixes with the bready wheat to create a cake dough character.Carbonation could be higher.

33cl bottle: BBD 30 Apr 15. One of the beers at the Sep 14 Shrewsbury beer exchange. I struggle with this sour style usually and this beer was no exception. Cloudy yellow with a sour lime lead, centre and finish: not for me, but scored objectively.
