Sour wheat beer originally coming from Leipzig, brewed for the first time in collaboration with a former craft brewery, who sold-out to Swinkels (Bavaria) Group in 2019. Goses are traditionally spiced with salt and coriander, but we decided to add bitter orange peels and bergamot: it’s fresh, aromatic, savoury, slightly sour and refreshing. Do you find it weird? Try it and you will change your mind!

Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. Hazy to clear very pale gold lasting thin white head. It’s an ok lemon sour beer. Quite refreshing. I had it as an aperatif to dinner and it worked well. Lemon, citrus vibrant aroma. Flavour is similar. Some lemon juice but it’s quite well balanced. Didn’t get much salt. Lemon barley water aroma and flavour. Some decent sourness develops. I thought fine and really very drinkable.

Bottle split at Mother Kelly’s during RBESG ’14, day 2, thanks to Niall 08/08/14. Clear pale golden blonde with a moderate off white covering and edgework. Nose is straw, citric vibes, light piss, spice, bready tones. Taste comprises lime cordial, lemon rind, straw, grass, light bread notes, tangy citric rinds, faint acidic qualities. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent refreshing number.

Sampled from bottle @ ChrisO after GBBF day 3. Clear very pale golden color, small white head. Weird aroma of some kind of herbs or spices, but I don’t know what it is. Taste is sourish, slightly plant-like. Very hard to describe. Not sure whether to like it or hate it.

Bottle - Aggressive lemon, lime and salt. Very pale, almost water and no head. Tart citrus and long salt finish. Smelled great, but tastes like lemonade. A bit more tartness or salt in the flavor would be great,

Bottle thanks to Niall at Mother Kelly’s. It pours very pale gold with minimal head. The nose is earthy, dough, salty, minerals and spice. The taste is crisp, tart, light bitterness, salty, lemon peel, lime juice, minerals and grain with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty crushable.
