10 Month Bourbon Barrel-Aged Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe, she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours, all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing: yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect. The barrel-ageing softens the beer, adding rich bourbon, sweet vanilla and a hint of oak. Already barrel-aged for 10 months this beer will continue to develop in the bottle for many years. Annual Release 2013.

RBWG14 Trip Rating #150. Bottle shared by jtclockwork at the Grand Tasting. Pours a dark brown color with a thin tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of dark roasted malts, whiskey, dark fruits. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruit, herbal hops. Medium bodied.

Bottle I brought to the Grand Tasting in Asheville RBWG. Thanks to Colin for the bottle. Pours black with brown head. Nose and taste of bourbon, oak, light ashy chocolate malt, roasted coffee and touch of warming alcohol. Full bodied.

I must say I regret drinking this at the end of a wine festival, as it pushed me a bit over the edge. However, it was an amazing brew. Pitch black color with the bourbon hitting your nose long before your eyes set on the beer. Beyond the bourbon there are some roasted malts and dark fruit. The mouth is rich, boozy, with lots of bourbon soaked brownies with some dark fruit topping. This shit is fantastic. Off sweet, boozy bourbon finish. Awesome stuff, would like to drink again not after a beer festival.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Aroma is bourbon wood, boozy. Dark caramel with a reluctant tan head. Flavour is dark smooth roast. Low carb big full body. Long duration.

660ml bottle, 2013 vintage. Pours pitch black with a large head. Aroma is bitter roast, coffee, mint choc ice cream and a little soft bourbon. Taste has yeasty bourbon to start with chocolate ice cream on the finish. Warming soft bourbon. Good shit.

66 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, breadish and chocolate. Thick malty, smooth bourbon. Light alcohol presence. Bitter and roasted dark malty into the finish.

Bottle - thanks to Ben! Pours opaque black, medium creamy brown head, nice lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malts, coffee, cigarettes. Flavor is the same, plus notes of bourbon and wood. Light sweet, medium bitter. Medium to light body, creamy mouthfeel. Barrel notes are definitely a minor player in this one, but it is pretty nice for what it is.

Bottle @ WWT III. Black colour with a white head. Nose dark fruits, roasted malts and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, dark fruits, chocolate. Finish is fruity and roasty. Good stuff.
