Bottle from Aldi. Pours clear dark brown with an unstable, small, frothy, tan head. Aroma of candied banana, dried tea leaves, herbs, raisin, iron, burnt toffee. Taste has sweet toffee, banana candy, bitter herbs & spices with a toasty-nutty edge to even things out, but a metallic accent pops up as well. Dry, toasty, herbal finish but not very hoppy, lingering chemical toffee. Medium body, syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Leffe-like but a tad better.

F: big, tanned, average retention. C: dark, red hue against the light, clear. A: malty, bit chocolate, bit dark bready, bit fruity, roasted tones. T: malty, chocolate, dark fruits, bit espresso, bit nutty, caramel, hint of iron, not bad for 0,5€, medium body and carbonation, 0,33l bottle from ALDI Schaarbeek in Brussels.

Botella 33 cl en el Kraken XIII cata Ratebeer Asturias. 16..10..2017. Color. Caoba oscuro turbio con espuma beige. Sabores caramelos suaves tostados secos. Dulce y ligeramente especiados. Cuerpo ligero a medio algo espumoso. Normal.

Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for this bottle! Smooth malty begining. Fresh, neutral. The typical abbey-yeast is there, but well hidden under a watery-malty layer. The aftertaste is easy to drink with more water than body, hints of brown malts and nice yeast.
The aroma is nice, but way too much in the background - the water is dominating this beer.

[9/24/16] Bottle sample at hotel room tasting in Woerden. Thanks everyone for sharing! Amber-brown. Aroma of caramel, malt, some fruitiness. Sweetish flavor with caramel, fruitiness.
