33cl bottle at home (11 VII 2021), as Vliet Dubbel. A reddish gloomed 6.5 ABV brew with brown unclear body and a white to beige frothy head. This rock candy sugared Belgian dubbel from Huisbrouwerij De Vliet has some offtune malt and sweet features, faint hints of oxblood and liquorice. There is some dark wood in there as well. The nose is nothing special though, with yeast and earthy flavours adding to the traditional Belgian beer experience. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation, semi-sweet and hinting at few plums, fig, prunes and other fruits. The palate is not overly sweet, with features of cheap sugar, diet coke and discounter chocolate bars. The ending has different spices, ranging from ginger, black pepper and floral herbs.
