Bottle shared at tasting with Johnny and TomHendriksen. Dark red color, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, heavy peat but, I must say, not one big chunk of peat but relatively subtle, because for once the base beer seems to hold its ground. Credit where it is due: this is quite alright.

Fles gedeeld met Keukeman en Benzai. Het is een roodbruin bier met een rokerige geur. De smaak is rokerig en turf achtig.

Clear brown appearance. Lighter than the base Quad. The sweeter elements from the base Quad are not really present in the aroma. The earth and burnt peat of the whisky really come through though together with a little iodine. Also some orange oil. Some of the sweetness of the base Quad does come through in the taste though. The jammy, sugary elements work well with the meaty, peaty smoke. Feels slightly thinner in the mouth. Really intense though.

Dark brown beer, reddish sheen, with a fast gone yellowish head. Tarry, peat, peated whisky, phenolic, and quite intense at that. Both the expected peat flavours as also quite some maltsugars beneath that tarry cover. Also a fine acidity, and bananaester. Well-bodied, pleasant alcoholwarming, long lasting phenolics. Quite good one, this. IF you like peat, that is.
