White Oak is an equal blend of two beers. A wheat-wine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap") and our Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale (Mischief) join each other in a delicate dance of flavor and character before we package the final product. White Oak showcases vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale. A true exercise of balance.

Backlog May 2014. Unclear orange body under a big, creamy white head. Mild, delicate, spicy aroma with hint of pale malt, dry fruit and alcohol. Aroma gives a certain sweet sugary impression. Taste is in the same direction, mild, delicate, spicy, sweet with quite much oak and some more alcohol in aftertaste. Nice, but a bit too sweet for my taste.

Bottle shared at CBJ - cheers! Pours hazed red-brown with a frothy, off-white head. Medium sweet flavour, some oxidation, citrus peel, pale grains. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, some golden raisins, mild acidity, pale wood, bready malts. Not bad.

Aroma is semi sweet, oak, white apple, brown sugars, light funk. Palate is woody tannin, white oak, tannin, green wood, brown sugars, little apple turnover, tannin. Moderate carbonation. Good.

Late checkin. Still boozy and nice but not much less stands out from the blend. Light bourbony belgiany.

2016 version. Slightly hazy amber with a cream head. Looks big and grand. Somewhat boozy aroma of toffee, oak with vanilla, white pepper and quite a lot of coconut. Fullish bodied, but a little lighter than I'd have guessed. Some sharpish boozy notes interrupt a sweet sipper that's quite nicely tamed by firm oak and some lemon at the end. Pretty good.
