White Oak is an equal blend of two beers. A wheat-wine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap") and our Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale (Mischief) join each other in a delicate dance of flavor and character before we package the final product. White Oak showcases vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale. A true exercise of balance.

Bottled 750ml@VWPBF Hazy orange, small steady white head. Sweetish jammy apricot aroma. Medium-bodied. Front is fruity, then strong vanilla, bourbon flavors. Sweetish vanilla, almost too sweet.

Bottle. Hazy deep amber liquid with huge white head. Aroma of dried fruit, raw sugar, raisins, caramel, toffee, bread and white pepper. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of toffee, caramel, dried fruit and raw sugar. Medium to full bodied with medium carbonation. Nice.

A hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fruity malt with vinous notes, grassy Belgian hops, light apple purée, nice. In mouth, a Belgian like interpretation with candy sugar, vinous notes, citrus pulp, light floral hops, loads of alcohol. On tap at Breukelyn Bier Merchants.

750ml tasted blind. Slightly hazy orange-tan. Foamy, creamy white head. Biting banana, boozy, champagne, slightly belgo feel. Unimpressive aroma, but a pretty decent boozy Belgian Golden Ale. Some odd pungent undertones.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy brown/yellow with big white head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of green oak, soap, and butterscotch. Full and creamy. Flavors of butterscotch pudding (in a good way), oak, vanilla, and indeed some coconut. Warm finish

Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 Beers this beer poured a hazy yellow color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy bread, sugar oak and was somewhat boozy. the flavor was strong oak, tart, tangy and sweet candied apples, pear and figs with undertones of vanilla, pineapple and a boozy presence. Long finish of sugar, pear, oak, vanilla, pineapple and alcohol. Thick and full body. Very nice.

From 75 cl bottle shared at Ryan’s. Piurs a cloudy gold with a massive off white head. Aroma of banana and white grapes. Flavors of oak and a hint of vanilla. Effervescent mouthfeel. Creamy tart finish.

750 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 3/8/2013. Pours very hazy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big pineapple, banana, apricot, pear, pepper, clove, toffee, coconut, oak, bourbon, wheat, light vanilla, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of yeast, malt, and barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big pineapple, apricot, pear, banana, clove, pepper, toffee, oak, bourbon, wheat, vanilla, candi sugar, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity/earthy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of pineapple, light fruit, banana, clove, pepper, toffee, oak, bourbon, vanilla, wheat, candi sugar, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of yeast, malt, and barrel flavors; with a nice moderate barrel presence and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a fairly slick, crisp, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is good. Moderate alcohol warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice blended wheat wine style. All around nice balance and complexity of yeast, malt, and barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV despite the moderate warming on the finish. A very enjoyable offering.
