White Oak is an equal blend of two beers. A wheat-wine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap") and our Belgian-style Golden Strong Ale (Mischief) join each other in a delicate dance of flavor and character before we package the final product. White Oak showcases vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale. A true exercise of balance.

Bottle - Coconut cream, oak and some tropical fruit. Cloudy yellow with a thin head. Like drinking a cocktail, burn and heat with a apricot fruit if anything. You get the flavour in the finish but too much for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy, opaque golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels, coconut, a little vanilla and some light wheat. Flavour brings out tangy notes, coconut, bourbon barrels and a hint of wheat. Fairly tangy, coconuty and vanilla-y. The bourbon barrels are well-situated without being too boozy. Not the easiest drinking beer, as usual for The Bruery, but nice enough flavours. Better than average for The Bruery. Decent stuff.

Rating from 6/11/13. 750 ml bottle, 2013 vintage. Pours cloudy cantaloupe with a large white head with excellent retention; leaves some neat lacework. Aroma is strong in oak, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, toasted coconut. Taste is sweet, savory and a little sour with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is creamy, body medium, carbonation average. Super good.

Hand bottle from PBF, thanks veliempojot

Pours dark yellow with a smooth white head. Aroma of tart fruits, smooth wood, oak, vanilla, malts and caramely notes. Taste is smooth, slightly tart and woody with notes of oak and vanilla. Finish is wooden, malty and fruity with slight tartness and oaky notes. Alcohol burns through slightly with some white wine notes. Quite complex and tasty.

75 cl bottle (11,5%) @ wPBF
Aroma feels quite Belgian with soapy citrus and acidic notes typical to white wine. Flavour has strong white wine notes, some citrus and apricot. Also some gluey notes. Way too much white wine for me here.

18/III/13 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a (2013-255)

Clear orange beer, creamy smmall white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: apple skin, green apples, bit sweet, very spicy, ginger bread. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet, honey, spicy, ginger bread (well, "peperkoek" for the Belgians and Dutchies), banana, grains, little sourish, apples. Aftertaste: honey, rye, spicy, ginger bread, bit sourish, some vanilla. Good beer, but really expensive!
