Dark: This classic beer style was first brewed by monks in the Middle Ages in order to fortify themselves during their fasting. A generous amount of malt goes into every bottle of smooth, rich Taybeh Dark Beer. Brewed in small batches in German traditional style using roasted malted barley, hops, yeast, and pure water creating a classic quality rare brew initially produced to celebrate Christmas 2000 at the turn of the century.

Little head, brown sugar sweetness. A bit of licorice aroma, but aside from that your bock beer.

Bottle. Thanks to Michael Rosenow who brought this home. Thin head over a cola-brown body. Slightly roasty malt smell with some brown sugar backing. The taste is fruity more than roasty, befitting an ale. Also some cider to the palate. Michael said he tastes coriander, but I donβt get much spice to it. A bit of tartness toward the end. Turns out nice.

Bottled at RBESG 2008. A brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and metal. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and metal as well as lighter notes of herbs. Somewhat weird flavor.

Bottle at RBESG 08: Dark, clear; liquorice, roasted malt and turpentine in the nose; robust sweet-bitter flavour; short bitter-roasted-malty and sweet finish. Not so great..........

Dark copper brown color, small off-white head. Nutty, toasted chestnut aroma. Grassy, woody hoppy, caramelly flavor. Suprsingly good one from Palestine (this bottle was original, not one from Germany).

Bottled. Deep amber colour with mediumsized off-shite head. Aroma is big malts, some hops as well as some roasted notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some grass. Also the roast is quite mild in the flavour.
