Draught@SBWF. Deep brownish black colour with a small beigeish brown head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is chocolate, roast, some citrus, mild nectary and some grainy tones. Flavour is chocolate, some citrus, mild toffee with some nectar as well. Tasty.

650 ml bottle. Pours a black/brown with moderate head. Aromas of rye bread, licorice, and watery black coffee. Flavors of piney roasted malts, mineral water, and black coffee with a vegetal note like green peppers. Not sure if it’s suppose to be this way...

Draught at Stateside Craft, Vancouver
Black color. I was expecting a classic Black IPA, instead I get roasted chestnuts and chocolate, lingering sweetness, and moderate bitterness.
The aroma though is not convincing, it has also a bit of yeast and glue. Different beer.
Pleasantly surprised.

Pours mahogany-tinged deep brown into a shaker. Mocha head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet macaroon aromas. Soft with coconut and dark chocolate upfront turning to a chemical finish. Weird.

From a 22 oz. Ottle shared at home. Pours a clear dark cola with a fine tan head. Aroma of ctrus and burnt grass. Flavors of alfalfa. Slight bitter finish.

Dark brown color. Light brown head. Pine, fudge and citrus in the nose. The mouth is very light, with modest roasted malt and hop charactwr. Not overly complex. Modestly bitter finish. OK.

Draft @ Bishops Arms Gamla Stan, Stockholm. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a slightly roasted malty piney hoppy caramel aroma. Roasted malty chocolate piney hoppy bitter flavor. Has a weak roasted malty piney hoppy finish.

Sample at SBWF 2014. Almost black with a small head. Aroma and taste of light roasted malt, some licorice, hops, grapefruit, pineapple and lime. Medium body and bitterness. A relaxed one.

Tap @ sbwf14. Deep brown, thin brown head. Roasty, chocolaty, hoppy aroma. Flavor has citrus, hops, roastedness, oatmealy smoothness. Lovely black ipa. Nice balance.
