Russet color with brown tinged. Cherry pie, caramel, raisins, brown sugar, moderately sweet nose. Big rich malty mouth with tons of cherry pie, burnt raisin, a touch of molasses perhaps. Big malty and sweet. Well balanced with warmth at the end. Very rounded great winter warmer. A bit brutish, but really good.

Draught @ City Beer, San Francisco, CA
Pours cloudy dark amber/brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt. caramel, alcohol, biscuit, floral and grass hops. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm and caramel finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonaiton is soft.

On tap at City Beer. An unclear, dark amber beer with a thin, beige head. The aroma is quite malty, toffee, bread and a little roasted hint, but with a good shot of hops too. Soft carbonation, very smooth, quite sweetish and almost sticky, and a warming alcohol touch. Lots of flavor, bother malty and hoppy, a balancing bitterness almost them. Lasting finish. Most certainly a beer I could repeat. 130805

On tap at Toronado for Barley Wine Festival. Pours a clear copper with an off-white head. Aroma of sweet biscuit, slight dark fruit, and slight spice hops. Full flavo(u)red bread, cracker and biscuit with slight floral and spice hops. Well rounded throughout finishes slightly viscous and with malts lingering long. Some dark fruits play in the background as well.
