Pitch black color. Lovely, rounded nose of raspberry, cocoa, port, but not a lot of roasted note. Mouth is moderately tart with good raspberry character and the alcohol is well hidden. It seems a bit unbalanced, but given that I just tried the whisky verison, still very enjoyable.

Tap at the Bistro BA fest. Pours brown/black. Aroma is oaky, grapey, musty. Med body. Flavor is musty oak with vinosity, and some genuine earthiness. Earthiness accumulates on the tongue.

Port Barrel aged Ryan Sullivan’s with raspberries and cocoa nibs. On tap at Blue Palms. Pours with a deep black body and a lasting brown head. Aromas of port, raspberries, chocolate, light acidity, oak and alcohol. Flavors are dusty, cocoa, brett, funk, barnyard, raspberries, old books, acidity and tannic. Tasty but very odd. Creamy mouthfeel supported by medium carbonation.

Draft. Blackish beer with a light tan head. Chocolate and light alcohol aroma with light spirits. Malt and spirits flavor (expected more wine and port, but got more alcohol). Medium bodied. Malt and light alcohol lingers with light chocolate. Did not get the raspberries.
