Draft. A dark amber beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, spices, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and spices, leading to a bitter finish.

From a 650ml bottle on 30/4/2018. Pours a cloudy reddy amber with a medium to biggish head. Has a caramel and fruit aroma. Quite unusual in the mouth - has a strong caramel malt backbone, with tart citrus and sweet stone fruit, finished off by really tangy, herbal, resinous hops. The mouthfeel is lovely and slick, with moderate carbonation. Very full on for 5.6%, but also very tasty and interesting. These guys are very adventurous, but more importantly, are consistently good.

On tap at Brewers Cooperative. Aroma is a little musty, some caramel, hay and apple. Flavour is quite bitter, some fruitiness and lots of malt biscuit. Little butteriness. Surprised this has only NZ hops, as the taste is quite English. Not my favourite.

Bottle from Bottle Shop at home. Ruby copper pour with big head. Aroma is very German bready malt with not much hops. Taste is similar - hope overwhelmed by deep sweet bready malt. Some lingering bitterness. Was hoping for much more interesting interplay of hop flavors given the name. Sort of disappointing. Wouldn't get again.

amber Color. Lovely apricot and peaches in nose. Nice mouthfeel with moderate hopiness over earthy malt backbone. Superbly balanced. Moderate bitter finish. A very new world take on the style, but definitive for what it is.
