Peppercorn nose, peppercorn mouth. Not very balanced, mildly effervescent. Tries too hard to be something good and when that happens you know it will likely fail and it didn’t...though didn’t crash and burn for its credit.

Bottle: Pours a dull tangerine color with a modest sandy head. Nose is earthy, florals, lightly spiced, and yeast. Some citrus and lemon zest in the flavor, light florals and yeast. The little zing in the end is presumabley from the peppercorns. Interesting, but still sort of ho-hum.

22 oz bottle. Weird! Pepper in my beer. I love it. The pepper isn’t overpowering, but just right. Tastes wheaty--almost like a really good German Weiss or a Belgian ale--with more than a hint of peppercorn. It reminds me a bit of those gourmet cracked peppercorn potato chips. This is unlike anything I’ve yet tried so gets top marks from me for standing out from the crowd.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Pours a hazy gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of yeast/spice and hot bits. A little banana ester. Medium body with almost creamy carbonation. Flavor is rather like a wheat beer, except for the light esters and peppery bits. Sting my lips it don’t, but it’s clean and drinkable. Pyramid apparently can’t make a strongly flavored beer. But this is a decent thing to drink. I get no funk at all though.

Bottle. Poured gold with foamy white head. Much lacing. Aroma of citrus, clove and pepper. Peppery flavour, with a clove note. Peppery and spicy finish that lingers a while.
