Bottle from a Carrefour in Bruges. Pours hazy dark brown with a quickly dissipating, but lasting, thin, tan head. Aroma of raisin, licorice, blackberries, dried prune, pear syrup, caramel, cake, cold tea. It tastes medium malty sweet, rather fruity, with raisin & prune, backed by faint caramel & dough. and light herbal bitter, tea-like, a hint of spicy licorice, even a faintly toasty accent. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, malty, lasting burnt caramel. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Unremarkable Dubbel but nice enough.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb and Stuu666. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of creamy brown malt, toffee, earthy. Taste is creamy, brown malt, more caramel. Sweet finish.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep brown with a nice crema head. Nose - wood and earth. Burnt toast. Taste - sweet toffee with a dry wood note. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - not a great example of the style.

33cl bottle. Pours dark reddish brown colour with a mid-sized beige head. Aroma of dark malt, dark fruits. Taste of dark malt, dark fruits, nuts, sugar, strange!

Bottle 330ml. @ [ PBF X ] Petalax Beer Festival 2015 by oh6gdx, Petalax, Finland. [ As Flanders Fields Ale 14-18 Bruin ].Clear dark red brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, candy sugar, malt extract, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, malt extract, brown sugar, light metalic, iron notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150724]

Bottled@PBF X. Deep ambery brown colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, floral and mildly toffeeish. Flavour i ssome fruits, mild tartness as well as osme owod and mild strange sweetness in the finish.

Bottle at PBFX. Dark brown color, small beige head. Candy sugar, spices and plum in the nose. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Dry with some dark fruits. Short a bit watery finish with some harshness.

Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Clear mahogny colour, small head. Worty nose with coffee, boiled vegetables and bread. Mid sweet with light-medium body and hard mouthfeel. Metallic with earth and brown sugar. Sharp finish. Strange and unpleasant.

33cl bottle @PBF. Dark brown colored beer with a thin brown head. Caramelly, sweet bready aroma, ryeish. Flavor has toffee, caramel, bready notes. Sweet finish.
