Cherry Porter Is brewed with a unique blend of sweet and sour cherries. Each glass is lush and creamy with a fruity aroma and flavour reminiscent of rich Black Forest cake. Roasted malts contribute a slightly smoky character with sweet chocolate notes, making this brew one to cozy up to in these cold, Albertan winters.

Wild Rose's Cherry Porter has been recognized as a top beer by several books including 1001 Beers You Must Taste Before You Die[10] and World's Best Beers: One Thousand Craft Brews from Cask to Glass.

650ml bottle. (6.5% ABV) Pours a clear dark brown with amber hue and a small, creamy, short lived, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted caramel malt, milk chocolate, cherry, coffee and a hint of smoke. Sweet flavour of roasted caramel malt, milk chocolate, tart cherry, licorice and smoke with a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Nice.

Modest head, black body. Swampy barley notes on the nose, some coffee sharpness. Flavour is firm cocoa, sharp chocolate finish. Dry. Cherries are not prominent at all, which is kinda not great - at least it’s not a syrupy mess but it ain’t got the balance one might hope for.

Was lacking cherry character and even though it did have a good roasted malt and chocolatey taste, I found the body a little watery which turned me off a touch.

Very dark burgundy. Cherry Coke aroma. Slightly tart body, with occasional dark malt notes. Thin. Not awful, and thankfully not cloying either. I like what the did with the fruit - tartness, hint of flavour, no sugars (despite the aroma). Were the base beer a little fuller this would be quite effective.
