Old bottle, forgot to record the date though. This was also the last beer I drank on my Belgium trip. Served in a lambic basket and poured with a small head. Aroma is very balsamic vinegar aceto and some light oily cherry. Taste is some balsamic vinegar with some oily chocolate and acidity in the finish. All of the flavor finishes quickly, must be a trait in Felix brews. Good stuff, still has plenty years of aging on it.
750mL bottle @ Kulminator in a Speciale Felix large tulip on 5/22/08.

Re-rate 6/29/08: Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. 1982 vintage. Amber color with no head. Aroma has lots oak, berries, malt and caramel. Sourish flavor with lots of oak, cellary character, oxidation, fruitiness and caramel. Medium-bodied. Past its prime but still good. 7/4/7/3/14=3.5

(3/6/08) Bottle at Kaffee de Hopduvel in Ghent. Best before 5/09. Deep reddish-brown with a beige head. Aroma with some wood, some sugar and some fruits. Flavor starts sweet with some berries and later some light sourness and some oak come to the rescue. Medium-bodied. Good. 7/4/7/3/14=3.5

Bottle Off-white/lightly brown head with a good lace. Clear, caramel body. Aroma of malts (caramel), molasses, lactic acid, ... Very complex, fruity aroma of banana, citrus, sherry. Aroma is a bit dusty (but not annoying). Moderately sour, lightly sweet initial flavour. Lightly sour, lightly sweet finish. Moderately bodied. Flavour of fruit, flowers, port. The flavour is not as complex as the aroma but still well balanced and nice and it lasts quite long.

25 cL bottle. Pours almost clear golden amber/red with a lacing tan head. Sweet malty, breadish and brown sugar aroma, mild note of fruit. Flavour is light breadish, subdued fruit note and a very mild sourness/tartness. Ends with a very minor metallic note and a dry malty flavour. Very minor berry fruit note too.6-5-7-3-13=3.4

75 cL bottle from 1982. Pours clear and golden orange with no head. Dry overripe fruity and light alcohol note. Sweet and light metallic with a nice fruity accent. Solid metallic notes too.6-3-6-3-13=3.1 - I guess only appearance didn’t age well.

Bottled as "Speciaal Oudenaards" (BB 08/2007)
Couple of years old bottle. Deep ruby red color, small beige head. Sour vinegar or balsamico aroma. Sourish flavor: vinegar, portwine, some sweetness. Malty, toasty background. Not such a tart beer as eg. Duchesse De Bourgogne, more like "session sour ale". Fizzy mouthfeel. Hints of metal in the aftertaste. (6/4/7/3/13 3.3)

Vintage 1982 courtesy of Jacob L. Clear amber color, no head. Oxicidazed, fruity nose. Soya sauce as well. Flat, apple flavored, a bit sour earthy with prunes and alcohol in the finish. (5/3/7/3/12 3.0)

Slightly hazy dark red/brown with a short lived off-white head. Caramel, butterscotch, vinegar and cherry aromas. Quite sweet with a nice acid finish. 1982 bottle courtesy of LΓΆvenlund: Much more musty, earty and leather aroma. Spectacular funky, earthy flavour, worth a 9 for flavour.
