6 oz. sample on tap at the brewpub, pours a hazy dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma of scotch, caramel, maple syrup - no hop presence. Flavour of caramel, non-boozy scotch (de-alcoholized scotch, so to speak), maple syrup, with a pleasant sweetness level that doesn't cloy. Well-made and superior to their regular scotch ale I'd say.

Draught @ the brrewpub. Pours a dark amber/brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma with some hints of smoke. Also some hints of alcohol. Roasted malty caramel flavor with some hints of hops and dark fruit. Has a wariming malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.

A sweet malty nose typical of Scottish ales, then follows up with hints of whiskey and caramel in the mouth leading into a well hopped finish. I must be the only one who thinks this is hoppy for the style.

Mahogany color. Good malt nose and flavor but I find it a bit light for this style.
