Säuerlicher, recht trockener Antrunk, in dem das Bier vollkommen auf die Säuerlichkeit fixiert ist. Da diese aber nicht unbedingt sehr stark ist, erscheint das Bier hier schwach. Erst nach und nach wird die Säuerlichkeit vollmundiger, das Bier gewinnt an Fahrt. Wenig holzig, die Hopfigkeit ist schwach und wirkt sehr trocken. Minimalst fruchtig, zum Ende süffiger werdend. Gutes Bier, das leider weit weniger voluminös auftritt, als es der Geruch verspricht. 12/11/11/11/13/11

La Roja, way back before I knew what the hell I was drinking, was my first Sour. And I loved it, even though I’m fairly certain I hated it at the time and my memory has whitewashed the whole affair. Who cares, because this current bottle of La Roja is delicious, full of tart green cherries and lemon and a strong, oak-laced finish that rounds out this pintful of complexity. Looks beautiful, smells like you could drink it or mix it with Olive Oil and pour it on a salad. Not exactly sure where the "amber" part of the ale fits in, since whatever nuances an amber might possess are lost amidst the sourness and the oak. Lovely beer anyhow. (3/12/09)

Bottle at 4:20. Pours a hazy, ruby-brown with a small, white head. Tart berry aroma. Flavor is fresh and refreshing, medium tart fruits, good sourness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Slightly warming finish, a bit of lip-puckering sour notes. Very good stuff.

Good beer with lots of funky and fruity aroma. Not an euro amber lager - if such a style ever existed. Too bitter to be Belgian. Peculiar.

Hazy amber with a big beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, sour fruity and earthy. Flavor is medium sweet and sour. Finish is acidic, dry and sour. 050310

Bottle, shared at Håndverkerstuene. Fine appearance on the outside with its great label design. Beige ring to the rim of the glass over a amber-red body. Fresh and tart berries to the nose. Mid-sour, red berries in flavour supported by yeasty fruitiness and oaky dryness. Cherry-like with a dry and smooth ending. Not too sour in any way. Pleasing (Oslo, 10.01.2011).

66cl Bottle at Harmens place, thanks! Muddy reddish amber brown colour, thick off white head. Aroma of sour cherries, tart, dark fruits, yeast, malts. Flavour is sour, cherry pits, caramel, light spicy, fruity, malty, bitter and sour finish. Medium bodied. Wrong kind of sourness for me. If this was a beer from Belgium I would say it was infected. Which, technically, it is of course..

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly deminishing head. Red-amber colour. Light malty and hoppy and very sour aroma. Moderate bitter powerfull flavor. Average moderate bitter sour finish. Oily palate. Used a bit of it for a mushroom/herbal dish.

75cl bottle@Kaisla, Helsinki. Label says Artisan Amber Ale. Poured cherry red color with a small white head. Aroma is well balanced sourness, earthy notes. Flavor is less sour, cherries and fruits, spices. Excellent sour ale, well balanced.
