Doch genau wie Mathilde, ist auch unser Bier gar nicht mal so schlank. Unsere "Schlanke Mathilde" überzeugt mit einem außergewöhnlichen Körper und einem besonders lieblichen, fruchtigen Duft.

0,75 l bottle from Dehlwisch, Lohne. BB 20.08.2025. Cloudy darker golden in the glass, one finger white head. Floral alcoholic aroma with malt. Taste starts malty with a lot of floral fruity elements, mandarine, citrus, banana. Sweet and alcoholic, some sharpness. Strong stuff.

Bottle at home. Looks really good. Beer in the glass deep golden, nice head. Aroma is sweet alcohol, some wood. Starts intense malty and sweet. Quite alcoholic, but good balanced. Some sweetish-fruity hints as well. Warming malty-alcoholic finish. Quite interesting!

Extremely tight off white head stayed on a reddish still body. Stewed fruit, malt & syrup aroma. Full bodied, sticky, heavy & cloying. Jam, syrup, stewed fruits & marmalade tastes with a lighter fruited finish. A big hitting sipper.

750ml bottle. Cloudy, copper-ish, amber colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Wheaty and bready, malty, as well as yeasty fruity and grassy-spicy hoppy aroma, notes of banana, yellow apple, fresh hay, a touch of caraway-spiced grey bread, some clove, dusty yeasty overtones, a basic layer of salmon sauce (honey, mustard, dill). Taste is sweet, caramel and wheaty malty, notes of treacle and honey, fruity hoppy hints of mandarine, orange, yeasty fruity notes of banana, baked banana, yeasty spicy hints of clove, salmon sauce again. Watery texture with a viscous middle strand, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Manifold, a bit inhomogeneous, maybe a tad too sweet; but also unusual in a positive way and pretty tasty - good!

Bottle, danke Günther!. Cloudy copper, creamy offwhite head. Krabbensalat nose, plenty of dill. Medium full sweet sticky base, caramel, a bit soured, fruit basket, herbs, dill, banana, eggy retronasal, a bit strange.

Bottle. Murky orange color with greyish head. Aroma is mackerel salad with mustard and honey (don't ask), a bit tart and probably not intended. Taste is bananas, again mackerel salad, honey, sweet. Not really schlank, and it seems a bit muddled. More drinkable than expected from the aroma though, albeit very sweet.

Süß hellmalziger Beginn, gerade noch ausgewogen. Minimale Herbe, harmonisch, dennoch unsüffig. Süß würziger Mittelteil, die Süffigkeit verbessert sich. Herb süßer, zunehmend trockener Abgang. Nett. 10/9/10/10//10

0.75 l bottle from 'Bergmann Stehbierhalle Drive-In', best before April 2021. Hazy, luscious orange with a large, foamy, stable, off-white head. Sweetish, rather yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of lots of clove, banana, some honey and traces of pear. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, fairly yeasty-spicy and a bit fruity taste of massive clove, banana, a touch of honey and hints of pear, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, very yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, smooth but fairly effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Heavy, intense Weizenbock, extremely yeasty and thick. Good!

Swing-top bottle, 750 ml: Deep golden with an orangey sheen, cloudy, big rocky and persistent off-white head, sweet fruity-orangey nose, yeasty spots underneath, presumably some wheaty dust detectable; solid sweet and mildly bitter flavour, full bodied, soft and a bit sticky; a strictly limited tartness shows up in the the slightly drier and more bitter - but all in all - sweet fruity and yeasty finish. Well done! As usual at DBB: The stronger, the better…
