Pours hazy deep gold with a small head. It smells of bourbon, a little cocoa, and malt. The flavor is sweet with bourbon, caramel malt, and cocoa. It’s pretty low on stout characteristics and reminds me of their flagship bourbon ale. It’s pretty good. I’d just expect more “stout”, even from a beer labeled as a golden stout.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Pours a cloudy butterscotch color with a small beige head and poor retention. Fair lacing. Light bourbon aroma. Tastes like a sweet amber ale mixed with bourbon. This is a stout? I don't think so. Medium body with very low carbonation. It's smooth and clean, but I'm not a bourbon lover, so this is wasted on me. Not bitter. A little medicinal. Meh. I'm liking it less with each sip.
