Bottled. Dark brown colour with a small beige head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is nutty, some tartish cherries, mild nutty tones with some chocolate and mild toffee too. Flavour is berries, some spiciness, tobacco, leather, yeast and mild nutty tones to it.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Pear drups and yeast in the aroma. Malty sweet, yeasty flavor with caramel, cinnamon and pear drups. Toffee and butter in the finish.

Il suffirait donc de mettre de la cannelle dans une bière pour en faire une bière d’hiver ?!!! C'est très certainement ce que pense la brasserie De Leite...Et bien non ! Nous allons tout droit vers les saisons de Noël ou autre gueuze de Noël. Vous me direz, c'est une idée pour Orval, un peu de cannelle, un peu de réglisse et hop ! Voici une Orval de noël !! L'hiver est encore en Belgique ou en France une saison où le temps se rafraîchit…Un peu de chaleur dans une bière d'hiver me paraît un ingrédient primordial, absolument absent dans ce Bon Homme d'Hiver qui ne ferait pas se réchauffer un Bon Homme de neige. Décevant donc pour une bière moyenne. En verre, nous sommes sur un brun limpide surmonté d'une mousse beige d'un cm. A la dégustation c'est aigrelet avec des arômes de caramel, de malts torréfiés et sur le final de cannelle. Corpulence et longueur sont très moyennes et une petite astringence se fait de plus ressentir. Bref pas exceptionnel, et surtout pas d’hiver !

Sampled @ O.B.E.R. Kerstbierfestival 2014, Essen. Trübes rötlichbraunes Bier mit geringer beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch kräftig malzig, reife Früchte, süß, holzig. Geschmack leicht röstmalzig süß, holzig, reife Früchte.

Sampled at Kerstbierfestival Essen 2014. Hazy red-brown color, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste lightly malts, a bit sourish, slightly dusty. Meh, not my thing.Earlier Rating: 12/27/2012 Total Score: 2.6Sampled from bottle thanks to Joes. Dark red to brown color, medium sized beige head. Smell malts, coffee and something weird. Taste malts, weirdness, iron, slightly herbs and spices. Really weird this one. Thin body, medium carbonation.

75 cl. Gentse biervereniging, brouwer op bezoek. Dark brown, beige foam. Medium carbonation. Light sweet fruity nose with notes of caramel and dark fruit. Vinous hints and some berries. Well balanced. Ok.

Odense drinking Belgian Beer in February. Copper with a big off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, cherry and light brettanomyces. Dry malty flavour with off-notes of over-ripe sweet cherry and burned malt

Bottle @ Odense Tasting Feb. 2014. Pours dark ruby amber with a creamy head. Yeast and phenols. Dirty rotten dark fruit and yeast. Lively carbonation. A tad too unclean..
