Intended as a Belgian interpretation of NEDIPA, one of the craft beers from the EpiK brand from the province of Namur. Medium thick, off-white, creamy and moussy head on a misty golden blonde beer with peachy hue, ochre-ish on the sides, fully cloudy with sediment. Aroma of old bread crust, dry hay, dried out grapefruit zest, jute bags, old dry leather, cold French fries, straw and even stale urine and 'horseblanket' pointing at a Brettanomyces infection. Dryish onset, dried apricot, unripe pear, medium carbonation, full and smooth body; bready and rusk-like maltiness with grainy edges, leading to a hoppy finish where clove-like phenols interfere a bit with a hayish, weedy, rooty hop bitterness that lasts quite long even though it never gets harsh; the alcohol remains perfectly hidden (as it ought to be at this strength). Surprisingly bitter at a mere 10 IBU - but then perceived bitterness is hardly measurable in IBU units, as we know now, and can be caused by other factors (such as humulinones or ingredients that are not hops) as well, factors that are not comprised in IBU values; in any case this is not a NEDIPA of any kind, rather a hoppy Belgian blonde. Or, more precisely: a brewer who is clearly incapable of brewing a NEDIPA despite his intentions, and tries to add the qualification Belgian to cover up his incompetence. It is of course possible that the Brett infection has already 'eaten' a lot of the flavours, but even then more NEDIPA features should still be noticeable. In short: is this a bad beer? No, I enjoyed it like I would enjoy any other hoppy Belgian ale (and will rate it as such). Is this a NEDIPA? By no means, not even an IPA in general.

Orange présentant un léger trouble, col crémeux blanc-cassé.
Arôme est parfumé houblonné classique - ce dernier est un peu en retrait par rapport au bouquet de levure. Rétro moyen du houblon - fin fleuri - fruité léger.

Palais pris de suite sur une base grains et levure - pointe un peu yaourt à la fraise. Petite épaisseur de bouche.
Amertume fine un peu terreuse avec un petit fruité en retrait - pointe de gelée d'orange.
Un peu décevante - très classique et une exécution trop centrée sur la levure.
