Cask at Archibald Simpson, Aberdeen. It pours pretty much black with a thick, dense tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred, earthy, burnt toast, cacao nibs, dark chocolate, malt loaf and coffee beans. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, dark roasted malt, charred, coffee beans, light acidity, umami, liquorice, dark chocolate, cacao nibs and slightly ashy with a dark roasted finish. 20/8/2025. Cask at the 46th Peterborough Beer Festival. Great pour. Nice roasted, honeycomb, caramel aroma. A little sweet. Lacked a bit of body but enjoyed this.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 4.8%. Black colour, small tan head. Aroma of roast malts, caramel, coffee, dark chocolate and oatmeal. Pleasant flavour with the same elements, also hints of dark fruits and earthy hops.

Bottle online from the Broughton Brewery. Pours black with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of roasted malts and a little chocolate. Taste has roasted malts, milk chocolate, smoke, ash, some coffee, caramel and a little brown sugar. Nicely balanced. Medium to full body with low carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. Very decent stout.
