Draught. Very sweet malty aroma. Looks like a helles with a thin white head. Very sweet malty flavour. At the pub they weren’t sure if this was a bock. I told them it looks and tastes like they they turned a Hofbrau helles into a bock.

Tap in Cologne. Fairly clear, dark orange appearance with a tan head. Fairly burnt, a touch smoky, a touch boozy, grassy, toasty malty aroma. Rich creamy, toasty caramel, light fruity, toffee, quite sweet flavor.

Draft at House of Hamburg. Filtered golden-orange, big creamy head. Boho brewhouse aroma, noble hops, yeast. Doughy, peppery, pungent Heller Bock. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Sweet, with lots of yeast notes despite the filtration. Very nice on tap, fresh and delicious. Well balanced, classic stuff. Quite a nice beer to have stateside. Delicate. Awesome.

Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a thin white head that fades quickly. Aroma of honey, grainy notes and a faintly fruity finish. The taste is bitter hops, honey, grain and apple. Medium bodied.

From tap at Biermuseum. Pours dark orange to brown with a thick, slowly diminishing and tan head. Aroma is caramelish, roasted and vague butterish. Roasted malty and slight butterish. Vague spiced. Toffeeish and dry, rather unsweet. Breadish and roasted flavoured finish.

On tap at the Biermuseum, Colonia: Amber coloured, mid-sized beige fluffy head; nuts, raisins and dark malt in the nose; quite sweet flavour, a bit sticky, medium to full bodied; shorter sweet-caramelly-bitter finish. Drikable, but not really convincing............

Test vom 4.9.2007, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 12,8,10,8,-,9 - 9,15

Tap at Biermuseum Köln. Amber, fluffy golden head. Dusty malt aroma. Grainy malt body. Honeyish, light fruit. Dusty retronasal. Very fullbodied - or at least it seemed so after a evening drinking Kölsch. Herbal aftertaste.
