Indigenous to northern Europe, Baltic Porters historically stem from the shipping of British porters to the Russian hinterland. Unlike their British cousins, Baltic Porters are often brewed with lager yeast, which is the tradition we follow. Big & bold, with flavors of coffee, dark fruit & raisins, this black beer is smooth as a chocolate swirl.

Barwa ciemna, niemalże czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Gęsta konsystencja, niemalże oleista. W aromacie karmel, kawa, przypieczona skórka od chleba i wychodzący na przód sos sojowy. Smak niezwykle intensywny, gorzka czekolada, kawa. Duża paloność, Alkohol dobrze schowany, wyczuwalny jedynie na początku w gardle poprzez rozgrzanie przełyku. Piwo to trochę różni się w porównaniu do porterów bałtyckich znad Bałtyku, niemniej jednak jest jednym z najlepszych. Wyróżnia się. Dodatkowo na plus: super etykieta i kapsel.

355 ml, bottled Jan. 2015, from Ammersin Centerstore.
Pitch black body, with a quite small, fluffy, coffee, colored head.
Aroma of melting dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, dark and dried fruits, tobacco, nuts, dark bread.
Taste starts sweet, with dark chocolate, dark fruits, black tea, some dark bread and merges into a smooth, dry roastiness, with coffee, wood, liquorice, tobacco, cocoa powder.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes smooth, dry, roasty, medium bitter, with coffee, liquorice, tobacco, some wood, some cocoa, some alcohol warmth.
Delicious! Stunning that this is a bottom fermented Porter, big and complex as an Imperial Porter. Very smooth to drink, with a pleasant subtle warmth and wonderful, manifold dark malts. Clearly the best Baltic Porter I’ve had so far.

Sample at SBWF 2015. Black with a tan head. Aroma and taste of licorice, roasted malt, some dark chocolate and hints of dried fruit. The mouthfeel was thick and the aftertaste long. A nice one.

Fantastic mouthfeel to a dark opaque brown porter served in a tulip glass at the Bulls Head. Coffee aroma and flavor with a lingering anise and chocolate finish.

Bottle conditioned in January, 2015.
This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a pure dark jet black pour. A slight one and a half finger white to off white foamy head dissipated within less than a minute. Lacing just quickly slides into the beer.
The smell starts off with sweet rich dark chocolate with a nice leading edge of some dark fruits coming in lightly to keep it sweet. Light bitter and roasty coffee beans show some nice balance to boot in the aroma.
The taste follows through in the previously noted aromas. The lager yeast helps a tad little bit of breadiness to make a smooth transition to the aftertaste and give off a sly little bit of semi-sweet sticky little bit of a finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs really light causing a big stickiness to develop and surround my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a really nice Baltic Porter, maybe I just could have had it at the right time too. It really aged nicely!

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Dark brownish black with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, light roast. Tastes of caramel, toffee, light booze. Medium body with a dry finish.

Bottle @ Kufle i Kapsle, Warsaw. Nice creamy head with excelkent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are rich roast malt, licorice, dark fruits, chocolate, coffee and hops.

Bottle. Black with a modest tan head that doesn’t last all that well. Aroma of prunes, licorice, coffee, moderate roast. Medium bodied; smooth with moderate carbonation. Lots of coffee and dried fruit, gently tapering sweetness into a clean slightly bitter finish. Fine stuff, smooth and very easy drinking for 8.7%.
